Peoples’ Posters

About

The Brixton Design Trail is now the eighth district of the London Design Festival. The festival promotes the city’s creativity and draws upon the country’s greatest thinkers and practitioners to deliver a unique celebration of design.

Brief

Create a memorable piece of design that’s indigenous to Brixton and amplifies its unique character within London.

Answer

The People’s Posters project was a platform for the public to tell us what they think of Great Brixton. We listened to the people and visually interpreted their answers, before designing and printing them as fly posters. We pasted the posters in public (both legally and illegally, in keeping with the 2016 Rebel, Rebel theme) for all to see. But unlike an advertising campaign, the only thing we were selling was people’s thoughts.
